Alpha Release. Osx open sourced piped Driver.

So because I talked to the game show people and they said it was ok to release here, the game show piped driver for HD HD 60 and Pro lines, this is a alpha driver, it may work on your system it may not.

Things to note, you will have to adjust video audio latency,  650 -1500 respectively.

From your source, run ./elgato-hd -r <resolution>, whereas <resolution> can be 1080p or 720p for a HDMI source, c1080p, c1080i, c720p or c576p for a component source or 576i for a composite PAL source. Hd 60 and HD 60 PRO wont be able to use C sources as they do not offer Component connections.

  • Heh, have a HD60 Pro, but like Bryce said, it doesn't do any good when I don't have a Mac Pro to install it in.

  • It's cooking (aka compiling.),  I know I am slow just busy busy busy .  As far as direction's go.  Install pick it from capture cards profit ?   I won't be able to test after as Game Show expired got the sad face,  I did fill out for that partner program here to see if I can get into that.

  • Thanks Bryce we found a few issues atm that we are fixing,  sorry for a slight delay, one  xcode update broke compiling and a second bug which we are fixing was inverting the video passthrough and causing it to go off and on.   Fixing that, and thanks again.   Also you said you have the PCI-E case to test a hd pro right?  Bryce I will be  happy when I am done with this, reverse engineering 3 different cards is ya not fun and god I hope to tell that Mac OS the new version that comes out doesn't totally break it.

  • Yes, we have a number of PCIe Thunderbolt cases laying around here, and an HD60pro that I haven't used in quite some time. It tends to not play well with software other than their own, so I usually use BlackMagic. Magewell cards for me have always been the most flawless for me, but they are more pricey, so BlackMagic is always my first choice.

  • Son, as long as it works you're my friend for life (in terms of how awesome you are). And even if it has problems, you're still awesome for beating Elgato to the punch. You've put a lot of work into this.

Now all that's left is to beat Elgato into the ground............

Any joy yet with testing Jamie Freeman or Bryce Stejskal ?

  • did you remove the firmware by any chance?  Jamie I know you would sorry like I said I do this in my spare time when I get time and I actually had to take a little break from it was getting to the point I was just getting mad at it and almost said screw it.

So I have been working on some gameshow widgets to kinda relax then come back with a fresh perspective .  I am kind of at a wall with it.   when you are the only one working on it it sometimes is hard to see the fault with your own code.

  • If I knew coding I could help, but I don't. If I did, I would make my own freakin' capture card. Tired of all these companies making promises for Mac users that they can't keep.

    You deserve a break.

  • Hello, I know you are trying to work on a better fix, but I was wondering if you could help me with the "unable to find device" issue. I think I have everything else in order, but am not sure what else to do.

  • It is an Elgato HD60. I double checked the thread and it seems like it should work with it. Unless I read something wrong.
