4.5 free version question

Does the free version apply a watermark beyond the bit rate specified in the software? Also I use to be a license subscriber as far back as 2016 and trying to use that license key tells me the license server cannot be contacted, as expected; so am i stuck with the free version/watermark?  Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated.

  • The free version can stream 1280x720 without watermark. There was a 750kbps video data rate limit as well.

Version 3 licenses from 2016 can't be used in version 4 series.
Earlier versions are available at this link .

  • And for clarification there is no way to get a version 4 key at this time?

  • CraigS here is an idea. remove the watermark from the latest version of the software no support for the product unless you have a license. this way more people  can experience the software.  then make a license for wirecast that is essentially the slimmed down version that gameshow was.  Like i said, an idea...

Unfortunately, no. You can download the version of 3 that worked with your license if it hasn't expired.

  • CraigS i downloaded version 3.9 and then i tried to setup the stream for twitch but it told me the service provider was offline, which i think was a known error.

  • Joseph Estefan Hmm, it looks like 3.9 is no longer working with Twitch. You may be limited to the free version of 4.5. Sorry.

  • CraigS well that sucks i cannot use the latest version my license will allow me to, with all the latest features in that version number and i cannot get the most recent software because it is not being sold anymore so i cannot even download it and use that instead. well this sucks....well i guess Telestream is not an option for me, sadly. thanks i guess.

  • Joseph Estefan Sorry the powers that be took that route but felt they had to for various reasons.

For the time being, there's a free fully functional (no watermark) 30 day free trial of Wirecast 12 which does stream to Twitch. Granted it's a very different priced market but we are examining that.

  • CraigS so my issue with wirecast streaming to Twitch is as follows:

    1. The pro functions like adding in noise reduction on the microphone does not work correctly. The software tells you the feature is accessable in the pro version but for the trial it will allow you to try it, and then when you go to add any of the items like dynamics or noise reduction, nothing happens. So that is disappointing
    2. Why is flash still be used as a method to capture and show webpages, guys flash is so not safe and requiring your users to have this installed before you can use that feature.....
    3. the game capture is not as clean as it could be. the output at various times was slow to catch up to the action on the screen.

  • Joseph Estefan Please do post that in the Wirecast forum since Wirecast users may need to see your post and my response. You can post a link in this forum to that post once you do it in case other Gameshow users want to follow it.
