Gameshow 4.2 Beta - MIDI Controller Support

The Gameshow elves have been working on a cool new feature for the Gameshow 4.2 Beta --- MIDI Controller Support for Shot Switching! This feature allows you to control your broadcast without touching the keyboard or mouse.

This feature currently supports the following three devices:

  • Akai APC Mini
  • Akai APC40 MKII
  • Novation Launchpad

We plan to expand support for additional controllers as we go forward. If you have a particular device you would like to see supported please let us know.

The MIDI Controller feature currently allows switching between Shots in Preview, toggling transition types, and sending the current Preview to Live. If you would like to see additional functionality supported via MIDI Controllers please let us know as well.

  • Been waiting for this. Excited to try it out!

Looks like the webcam quality downgrade issue is still present.

Here's some screenshots to show what I'm talking about:

  • Cool in the next update or so you guys plan to add mixer support or has that been dropped?  Just wonder if we always going to have to document edit it in.

  • Summer Voelker I use AppleScript to control it. But unfortunately, the animations between shots kinda break. I am not sure why this happens yet but there's a bunch of other bugs I am trying to fix with them and hopefully that is one I can ask them about next.

  • Would be great to have NI Maschine supported – should map easily to the APC40 setting.

  • I would also love to see MIDI Controller support for audio faders. Currently, I have to use third party software to get the audio workflow I need.

  • MIDI support was one of the reasons why I bought the software. I'd love to see support for the Akai MPD 26, or a way for the users to configure their own controllers. Keep up the great work!
